Dear all,
Well, first I must admit that GIMP is not installed (yet) on my computer, but after I have seen so many great plugins and brushes things will change now. It first started when I was searching for cake icing brushes for PSP but couldn't find any and saw great icing brushes at DeviantArt for Gimp. Then I made my own for PSP but saw more and more other lovely goodies for Gimp and decided to join in. So, this means that I have
no idea how Gimp works but then I had to learn PSP too and even 3D programs which I have learned. If I can manage Daz Studio, Bryce, etc (3D), surely I can manage Gimp too.
OK ... now to introduce myself!
I am a 58-year old woman, and a retiree (pensioner) since end 2010. I have much to learn but 2D & 3D is what I am most interested in. I have worked for years in an admin environment at a university, but finally can do the things I most love ... creative arts!

I also draw and paint but not as much as doing computer arts. You can have a glimpse of my work at my blog when I have completed my profile as I was asked to remove the url from this message ... sorry!
EDIT - My Blog: Launok CreationsUnfortunately, most of the freebies are done in PSP but saved as .png and hopefully should work in other art editor programs too.
How did I finally end up here? I was searching for embroidery presets and find some good ones today by Lyle and the embroidery stitcher for Gimp. My aim is to make scrapbook elements with a "sewing" appeal. I still look for more such as (2D): laces, crochets, knits, appliques, quilts and others. I have made for instance an alphabet with fringe effects (freebie) and a biscuit alpha (also free) from my own font quite some years ago. I was to complete the font as it's caps only. But font making is not easy and I have never get that far to do the small letters and numbers/symbols. I can't even remember where I have stored the font file ... somewhere on the many disks I have together with the font making program.

EDIT: Can't fill my profile in either at this point as I have to post more times. OK, now my profile seems to be up!
Well, this is all I can say at the moment. You must all take care!
Kind regards,
Laura
