what part of opening an already ready APNG and tryng to save it dont u understand? if the creator of that APNG could save it then yeah obviously its the same size but i dont know why i cant.

I could before for like 2-3 images but after that it was a no no

Edit:I also have GAP so i dont know if APNG conflicts with that

Re Edit: Also when i get the save error message it does say could not save but it will still save the background layer as a 1layer png image

So if i try to save as animation it will save the background layer only instead of the sequence

Also if it matters i have Win7 64bit and Gimp 2.6.11

the dialog to use the apng plugin is a bit tricky, just add the apng extension to a image name will prompt a error message, and obviously using .png instead then apng wxtension will give you a error

see my screenshot at full size , the dialog framed in red , should be expanded and you have to set there the format.

PS i discover that i may even save as mng (another png variant for animation )not only as apng, not sure if that depend from the same plugin or by something else i may have installed

What are the advantages of using APNG, why don't you just use XCF? To me it sounds like they are the same...

Sorry I didn't know that APNG was for animation, it actually sounds pretty useful not :D, sorry I am rather new to this GIMP thing, so I don't know everything.

I just got told that they are only Firefox compatible maybe that is your problem?

Now once again look at my pictures and see why u should not have even posted that. And it doesnt matter if their only firefox compatible(wich they are not) cuz it is giving me errors in gimp not firefpx

BlooDxInt, you are being quite rude. People are trying to help you the best they can. With that attitude, you will have to find your own help.

you could try to remove the old png plugin (file-png.exe)

For the rest i hope you gave the same attention to my screenshoot then i did to yours because using the save dialog as normally the plugin will never work

But anyway will not work with different errors messages of what you reported, so in your case should be something else ...maybe a conflict with the standard png plugin

Im not rude i just dont like ppl that dont read the original post trough just look the first 2 sentences and then make a comment about it

Just like the guy below u. I said i looked at ur tutorial and ur tutorial involved deleting file-png and then he comes and tells me to delete it even tho i already said i did. So i ask what is the point of his message? there is absolutely NONE
