Wow - you guys are hard taskmasters! I downloaded the PDF tute and tried to follow it as part of my 'GIMP neophyte paths learning exercise' - it took me ages to realise (after looking back at post #1) that there was another plug-in to download.

But I think I eventually got there and yes learned a heck of a lot on the way through ...

I kept wondering what the weird skeletal image was until I realised that I still had all paths 'visible'; as I said a learning exercise so my thanks to 'ofnuts' et al for the plug-ins and tutes!

And believe it or not I am immediately following a Graechan post ... again!

I redrew a black and white M and used it for this script. I made 20 paths but when I did the move background I wasn't very successful in lining it up so it would look 3D, so this is what I ended up with.

That's a neat idea.
Just a thought...
Maybe if you just do the "M" with the paths inbetweener and then add the other body parts afterward. It might work out better.

Nice job

- Alpha to selection, select to path: rename path to "Big"
- Duplicate Big and name copy "Small"
- With scale tool in "Path" mode reduce "Small" to 2/3 or original size, and move it down
- With path-inbetweener generate 60 (or was it 80?) intermediate paths from 'Small' to 'Big'
- Prepare gradient from dark blue to light blue
- stroke-visible-paths with: from gradient, fill, single, transparent.

No brush, no layers moved.

ok, are you saying we dont have to have a brush? Just set it to gradient then stroke? Thats cool. Here I have been changing the brush size and brush type.
Thanks
Looks pretty good except for his long freckles and eyes. :lol . I probably didn't move it down correctly, so I sort of centered it. dunno

No, I didn't need a brush because I used "fill" and not "stroke" for that one.

I needed to consolidate my learning of paths and increase my understanding of the potential of this script, so I played with it further this morning! Quite accidentally, by initially leaving a number of the generated paths 'not visible', I ended up with two separate stroked image layers from the one generation ...

Image

which could be viewed together ..

Image

or apart ...

Image

or manipulated! Just love GIMP and the GIMP Gurus who build these scripts. Thanks again 'ofnuts'.
