Why has my brush gone all pixlelated???

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: New User

Hi all,

Im a bit of a newbie and im stuck with a problem that im sure is simple to fix, i just cant seem to work it out..

i used a brush last night and it came out awesome, clean and crisp, smooth lines etc..
i go to use it today on another design and now its all pixlelated.. :gaah

i know it has something to do with my paintbrush settings but ive tried all different settings to get it back to how it was.. but failed..

I was going to click on :reset

in the Tool Box options down in the bottom right hand corner, but scared ill lose something important..

Can anyone help me??
Feeling like a dumb dumb hehe

The yellow arrow :reset

is just a reset button. All you should have to do after is change all your settings for your brush again if need be - size etc.
