Ha thanks bilbo9955, you have been faster than me for the announcement :)
These days I don't often post many messages on the G'MIC forums (GimpChat and Pixls.us), sorry about that. I'm really busy at work!

So, yes G'MIC 1.6.7 has been released yesterday, and it has some new cool stuffs. One of the most visible is a new Resynthetize texture filter that works quite better than the older one, when you have macro-textures. It takes a (small) input texture and is able to resynthetize a bigger version of it, using a patch-matching algorithm. Here are some screenshots of what this filter can do (I've made them before the release of 1.6.7):

and two results :

and

I've already started the work on the next version 1.6.8.
Note also that the 1.6.7 version of the G'MIC plug-in can now be compiled without warnings for GIMP 2.9, and in this case, it uses the GEGL interface to manage high-bits depth image editing.

A lot of cool stuffs I've said :)

Cool that higher bitdepth is being supported and even better that it's been made friendly with GEGL which means we will have G'MIC with 2.10x (if it ever gets released). :)

What would be cool is to have a feature like Resynthesizer that allows you to use a target template and source image so that you can do renders like Resynthesizer can (corn mazes for instance). Hope David's still checking in on this thread. I'll post it at Discuss as well. :)

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

This may seem like a silly question, but did you try to run the, 32 bit, 0 byte, G'Mic .exe file to install it?

Yes Wallace, double click on .exe (32 bites) and it doesn't work. I see that the file exe, has 0 bytes. So I thought it was wrong. Thanks for your interest. :)

That's odd...
Maybe you should connect the creators and let them know, if you haven't done this already?

from where did you download the 32-bits exe (installer) file? The one from the official site (gmic.eu) - as noticed by Issabella - is empty (0 bytes);
only the zip file contains data, thus using that one it is possible to install the 32-bits version (unzip and move), but not from the (empty) installer;
I'm curious....

Ha yes, it seems there has been a problem with the creation of the win32 installer.
I'll be able to fix it only on next Wednesday.
Until then, I suggest you get the plug-in for the alternative .zip archive instead.

The executable should have been updated, now. Please try downloading it again.

Hi
I download the 32bit ZIP file.
I did not download the install file.

So if you need the ZIP file I have it.

Doron.

The update is for any additional filters/files and or fixes that might have been added to a specific version.
In order to have the latest version of G'MIC.
You need to install all the files that pertain to each version,
not just filter updates.
The update button that's provide within G'MIC's interface,
is for filters/file and fix updates for the current version installed.
It would be nice if we were able to update G'MIC to the most recent version using the update button.
