Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

Issabella, you don't have to remember the settings, just run script then when script open up with its dialog just move that window to the side a bit and hover your mouse over the point you want to use as center and the coordinates should show on bottom of gimp window and then change the center-x and center-y to the point those coordinates. so you can always change one coordinate and then hover over again, that way you don't have to remember both coordinates for so long...

Thank you Issabella. :smiley2
You can do it as Tin has described.
Also if you start with a canvas that is even in size,
like I did with the image below.
It's very easy to know where the center is.

Image

If the canvas is not of even size,
I tend to measure it using the Measure Tool :measure .
To be sure where the center is on my canvas.
I also cropped my object's layer that will be rotated and moved it into a desirable location (near center).

Here are the results.

excellent...
i thought i give it some seeds.
Image
someone suggested that i change center-x and center-y to be percentage of width/height... I thought this would make it even harder to decide what to enter for center-x and center-y since you cant just hover over where you want center to be and read of the coordinates.
What do you think peeps?

I was going to add some seeds to the center,
but didn't. :clap

I think the way the center x and y are plotted works fine.

Some strange images appearing above ;)

Yesterday I spent a wonderful 2 hours at a matinee performance of a new Aussie Musical 'Georgy Girl', about the group 'The Seekers'. They were the first local band to have hits in both UK and USA in the early 60s and by the look of the audience, we were all around at that time! In the performance there were some terrific Op Art costumes typical of that period in the UK.

So now I am into Mura Meister Op Art -

... and all of that from a single hexagon; eventually the canvas grew so large, it crashed GIMP multiple times.

Now these are freaking awesome, OMG. How did we both think about 60s (and for me, I was but a little boy). ;)

There is something about this addictive script that sends you on an interesting journey of discovery based on the X and Y co-ordinate values.

At first I thought there was a bug in the script ...

... then I thought no its not a bug ...

Image

.. then I realised it was worms ...
