Need advice on pattern scaler[SOLVED]

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Linux
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

I've been getting some textures and putting them in patterns. Thing is when I open them they're gigantic (relatively). Like a brick texture will be one brick. So I found this (I believe from our Rob A).

Is this the way to go? And would I put the .scm file in the GIMP 2.8 Scripts folder? Thanks.

Not sure if this script is what you're looking for.
It is however a useful script, which I currently have in my Gimp scripts folder.
Are you aware that you can scale existing patterns using the patterns menu?

I need to correct myself.

The script scale pattern by Rob A,
is what adds this option to the Patterns Menu.

The script does exactly as described.

It scales a selected pattern and puts it in the clipboard,
allowing it to be used as a pattern.
There are also other features to this script,
which makes it an excellent addition to the patterns menu.

You can also access the script by right-clicking on a pattern and selecting Scale Pattern from the pop-up menu.
