Hello

i have installed the script and all, but it doesnt work...
i get the following error messages:
"Plug-in 'Lightning like Zeus ' left image undo in inconsistent state, closing open undo groups."
on top of
"Error while executing script-fu-lightning-strike:
Error: eval: unbound variable: python-fu-vector-to-line-stroke"

maybe because it's too old... but i really love the effect. I hope someone can help me :)
Thx in advance

Are you using Windows and Gimp 2.10 ?

The vector-to-line-stroke.py has a path to .gimp-2.8 included, which causes an error.

Fixed that (for Windows) and a small update to the Lightning.scm Working here Win10 + Gimp 2.10.12 Remove the old files Unzip the attachment.

Put Lightning.scm in C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\scripts
Put vector-to-line-stroke.py in C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins

Start Gimp File -> New
Make a path
Run the script from the menu entry.

Has anyone gotten this to work in Gimp-2.10.32? I keep getting a not enough arguments error.

Error: Invalid number of arguments for python-fu-vector-to-line-stroke (expected 12 but received 10)

t could be the version of vector-to-line-stroke.py you have. The one from post #87 is 3870 B and that works here:

30 second animation, first half old-plugin gives those errors second half 3870 B plugin working.

You might have to delete your pluginrc file and let Gimp scan the plugins again for that plugin.

I know I posted examples before, it took quite some time to track them down. I used rich2005's modified script.

Removing the pluginrc file didn't correct the problem. So i removed all instances of lightning, lightningstrike, and the vector stroke path py file and dropped in the ones from Rich (post #87). Restarted Gimp and ...

So my problem was adding all the other posted scripts. lightningstrikebg, lightningstrike, and the first lightning script posted. When i got to Riches post i had already removed all but lightningstrikebg. I added rich's and got the error. Removing lightningstrikebg solved the problem. :) :bigthup

Perhaps Wallace you could remove all attachments except Rich's post at #87?

Well, it is Tin's post. Perhaps he could change the first post and maybe make his script even better. Any suggestions for better ?

I for one would really like to have the color picker back in the script in place of the hue control. :bigthup
