Photomaster,
Thank you for the error messages.
I will take care of these tonight after work!

Lyle, Thank you! .. And how did you enhance the strokes? Could that be programmed as
an option?

And for all the nice outcomes, thank you everyone!

Brian

I used lylejk stencil followed by anisotrophic smoothing (saved as a preset I call fake smudge) and the I dupped, run bilateral smoothing on top and merged down to create a convolution layer and duplicate to taste. :)

Cool filter Brian. I had a couple of plays but could not do the preset 5. Kept telling me I had a layer missing?

Also I miss the reset (back to default) button

Sallyanne, there was an error in preset 5, it is fixed in the new version (on page 1 of this topic ver 1a ). I don't know about a reset to default button Do you know of a python script with that feature? (maybe I could add one).

DoronF2 - you must select your G'mic version (1.7.9 or 2.0.0) before running the filter.
I put a reminder on the menu in version 1.a

Hardy111 -
I found no mistake on or around line 175 and the script ALWAYS calls Graphic Novel no matter what options. Please check to see if you have Graphic Novel installed in your Gmic 1.7.9 and if so, let me know what the command string (#6) says! Thank you Hardy!

Photomaster - thank you for the error report. #5 had the original lines from
before 1.7.9 functionality was added. They were not indented under the IF so they
would cause a problem with either Gmic version. It was late at night and the last
thing that I changed!

Hi Mr. Animicule

Today I downloaded gmic 2.0.0 and tried. First it decided not to run then it completed its action. I don't why it hesitated first.

This picture was taken with a low resolution mobile phone. Quality of original was not good but after running the filter it becomes fine.

I like the results a lot. I left all the layers. I like to see even the smaller details as in this result. :)
