Hi all,

here's a photo of a small control lamp in its off position. Can I add some sort of bright red light trickery to make it look like it is turned on? I haven't had any luck with what I tried. Everything looked really hokey.

Thanks for any help!

Ok so I did find a way after all: I created a new layer, set it to grain merge mode and clicked with a round red brush in just the right size a few times. Works ok, I think.

Wow, these are even nicer and green, too! How did you get there?

I used the same method that you did. A new transparent layer and grain merge. Slight difference - I made a selection on the red, feathered it, and bucket filled on the transparent layer.

For the green: On the original I used (Colours > Map > Rotate Colours) to change the red to green, then the same method as the red.

Great - thanks for sharing. I forgot about the bucket fill.

Actually, I didn't know there were preset buttons. That's good to know, but in this case, there's a reason for this lo-res image.

Thanks,
