I can answer that question sallyanne.
In USA they have a ceremony and a a coming of age party celebrating a teenager's 16th birthday "Sweet sixteen". Similar celebrations are found in different cultures around the world, such as the "Quinceañera" in hispanic countries and the "Festa de debutantes" in Brazil, both at 15 years of age. Much like a wedding, this event can be formal, casual, or semi-formal.

I hope that clarify your question.

Thank you Pocholo for the explanation. i actually looked up the meaning before I posted.
I was just wondering if Issabella had one when she was 15 :hehe .
Not all countries have any celebrations at all, or it could be to do with the resources available at the time. I know I didn't anyhow.

Sallyanne, I've just seen your post. Sorry I have been quite a lot time out of the forum. Nothing important by family matters.
Pocholo, has answered alright to your question :)
I think that it's currently a party celebrated in South America countries.
When I was "a quinceañera" it wasn't celebrated and I don't know it was celebrated before either. Perhaps it was in my Grandmother's time as a start to the adult society :hehe

Welcome back, Isabella.
Will it be for a long time or is it just a short "pause"?
