I notice there is now a Windows 8 coming out. I used to eagerly await new Windows releases, now I couldn't care less. Now I look forward to the next Mint release eagerly. I guess that means I'm hooked.

Same here, dude. Mint is groovy. Always checking up to see what Clem and the team are doing to make it even better.

I loved Windows 98 - XP is pretty awesome too.
Windows 7 and the new Windows 8, they can keep them. :)

I'll stick with Windows XP 32 bit.

Me too, I've never paid for windows, well I did one time but it was for my mother in law with her money so that don't count. Other than that I only use what comes on a new computer. Now, I'd much rather have Linux on a new one.

XP lasted me between 2004 and 2009 (from Win2K; had to rebuild my OS so said why not; PC itself lasted from 2002 to Dec. 2008 which was the year my brother got me a barebones). Skipped Vista, but felt with all the pos reviews that I would go Win7 and purchased the pre-order of Pro back in the Summer of 2009 for $99 (no regrets) and upgraded the OS to Win7 that November, but I still use XP (via VM) to isolate the real world from my Win7 (created shares between the 2 OSs; use Win7 for nearly all my edits; typing this message now in XP; lol). I seriously doubt I will upgrade to Win8; may not even upgrade ever since I really do feel Microsoft's days are numbered especially since smart phones and pads are beginning to steal the show. I will always be a PC user though (at least that's how I feel about it now) and do not smartphone or Pad. :)

hey hey hey, don't be dissing my phone, lol. I love having a smart phone...it's like having a mini computer with you at all times. It was great having it on vacation...I could take photos and post them on facebook or email them to people, I could keep up with my email and forums if I had time, and even pay bills.

I had a hard time finding a phone that just did the minimalist of things (like dial; it still has a web like menu but I never use it; lol

I refuse to pay $100/month for the priviledge of being tracked and such. Best to use your home PC and be tracked their. lol

Besides, I am like Rod; a phone's a phone, a camera's a camera; a gps is a gps. These all in one devices will go bad and you paid too much for the priviledge when they do (yup, I'm old school in my thought processes; lol). :)

I have a trakphone that's expired. I guess I'm misanthropic but I don't see the need for a phone thats by my side, in my hand, stuck to me head all the time. We only use it maybe once a month for 5 minutes. We never use the 60 minutes that's on the card. I think society as a whole is addicted to them and I won't be a slave.

tbh, I don't really use the phone part all that much. (ps, not $100 a month, much less for unlimited data and plenty of long distance minutes). I use mine mostly for internet and email, and the occasional pic or vid. It's like my 'all in one' electronic device! At work they sort of laugh at me as I check out the news on my lunch hour, do my email, and look up things for other people, lol.
