Oldmangrumpy, beautiful wooden bowls #542.
#557 could be a trompe-l'oeil, a chalice or two almost kissing faces, very well done.
Very meaningful double exposure of your beautiful photos, first post of #559 :paint

Diego and Ella - as always, thanks for your kind comments.

This image was created to partner my latest blog post about some thoughts dating back well over 60 years about what was then a 'mysterious place' for me in my old home location in England, but I thought I would share it here too.

Trying to maintain some indigenous connection in my outcomes at present, for reasons that should be obvious to most. Here is a mosaic of a chasm I shot in the Kimberley, superimposed with a happy Tiwi child. The Tiwi Islands are some 80kms to the north of Darwin, have a small population of only 2,500 with artistic output featuring fabric printing, carving and some painting. My wife and I tried to visit here a few years back, but as our (very) light plane was just turning ready to start landing, a huge storm just erupted and we had to abandon our trip and return to Darwin.

Did you ever plan to go back since the weather changed your last attempt? Lovely mosaic, hard to not smile back at a smiling child. Thank you for sharing.

Mahvin - thanks; yes we would love to return, but would you believe that we are supposed to be on holiday up there in northern Australia right now, but the pandemic has led to cancellation of all such holidays ... hopefully next dry season (2021) we can try again.

Keeping up my indigenous theme, but with significant Diego influence, here is my portrait of Maminydjama (Magnolia) Maymuru, passed thru Diego's 'line sketch' filter, then also using my rendition of one of his fibrous background concepts and a rock face from kakadu.

He knows I like to do things from scratch :hehe

Not sure where this came from; certainly did not start out with it in mind :)

I don't drop by GC so much these days but when I do, I enjoy seeing your work and seeing how you are progressing and how your imagination is stretching. I love your work.

Mahvin - never heard of Twizzlers before, so I looked them up; not sure if they are liquorice or electric cable :hehe

Erisian and level_0 - thanks, I appreciate your comments.

Two pics, first one of Warren Mundine an indigenous politician/leader and the second needs no introduction :)

How did you make the rays on the buddah? A gradient or a GMIC filter or ...?

Level_0 - I used GMIC>Lights & Shadows> Light Rays. A few years back I did a number of tutorials on using this Light Rays filter; here are the links for them:

Erisian & Anmal - thank you; I'm glad you like her, because she has a robot sister Tantra, but she is not on active duty right now :)

Taking the lead from Diego whose 'embossed' images I checked out earlier, I had a play by starting of with a simple mannequin model image, modified it slightly, then used GMIC emboss, added some colour to eyes and lips, then finally put in the hot bath background. Thanks for the inspiration Diego :)

Definitely not a robot or a mannequin this time, but a portrait of a happy, young, indigenous woman ...
