Thanks for the cool sketch plug-in.
First run, picked just lighter version of the image's original red background color for the user BG because light color was suggested.

@Issabella
You are already a master in drawing portraits.

@Nidhogg
Good start. Awaiting other contributions and "interpretations" by you.

I love this effect.

However, how can I avoid the crossing pattern along their faces? Vivid colors settings, it really stood out more, so I used simple sketch and it was still there, just not as bad.

Here is a 'rich gray' outcome of a photo I took of an outback school in the Kimberley - no mod cons here but you can just make out the wallaby!

I'm experimenting with custom sketchbw settings, it's using 4 orientations.

It depends on the photo, look at "Daria" by Issabella.
Otherwise a bit of personal post-processing.
Thanks Mahvin.

@Mahvin

A very limited touch up post-processing.

I made a change in the filter; could you try this version on that image and double-check, Mahvin?
thanks!

When using curved stroke, there will be some boost strokes even if it's not activated.
That's why I'm experimenting with different settings using 4 orientations, shorter stroke length and other changes.
Will take a look at the settings in your new version...
