Time for something a bit different

I found yesterday's post about use of GMIC anisotropic smoothing by fjkp123, to be intriguing. I have used dream smoothing previously but not anisotropic smoothing. Whilst I did not want a 'cartoon' effect as was demonstrated, I had a play then added my own favourite GMIC effects.

Photocomix was a master at smoothing effects. I use his smoothing settings quite often.

Pat - thank you. This next one, still blue focussed, is inspired by Loreena Mckennitt and two of her songs Mystic's Dream and Night Ride Across The Caucasus.

EDIT - can anybody tell why at home in GIMP, this image is distinctly BLUE, yet here in GC it seems to have adopted a PURPLE hue?? Same monitor in each case. I tried to post a screen snapshot showing the difference with the two images side by side, but again at home whilst one was purple showing in GC and one was blue in MS Photos, when uploaded ... both looked purple in GC :hoh

... or maybe its the Wallace Effect

Sydney has really had the temp turned-up the last few days. We were fortunate to get 30mms of rain last night.

Australians like too much heat and not enough rain anymore.
