Random Art Prompt II (next deadline Sunday Dec 12)

Griatch · **Posted:** Thu Apr 01, 2021 9:56 am **(#41)**

Due to Easter holidays, I won't have time to contribute to the RAP this time; so since noone else has yet either, I'm prolonging it by a week. So there.

My entry for the RAP this time. I picture the Wizard store's clerk hands out torches at the entrance ...

Hmm. Open fire in a bookshop. What Could Go Wrong?

Also, some books could require a forklift (or a large expense of mana).

It's magical fire though, it's well known to burn cold ...! And yeah, floating books must be a thing in a magic book shop.

I like the slight surface design of the material here, makes it would appear that a more seasoned picture/drawing style. She looks very cranky, similar to she's going to go off on an epic tirade about something!

I experimented with a 'looser' style here, in order to show detail with fewer brush strokes. Glad you like it! I bet she's cranky because she may have to carry those huge books later ...

My image for the feared pirate-captain RAP! I went back to a little more detailed lines for this one.

sallyanne · **Posted:** Thu May 06, 2021 12:20 am **(#52)**

I am no artist so dowloaded a creative commons photo and added some GMIC and gimp filters to it.

and again

Griatch · **Posted:** Sat May 08, 2021 1:59 pm **(#53)**

@sallyanne

Very pictoresque! All styles and techniques are OK - as long as we make something new, it's all in the spirit of the RAP. :mrgreen:

My entry for this week's art prompt. Not so much of a 'village' here, but I went where my inspiration took me.

nice, someone likes their solitude

leftyleo · **Posted:** Sun May 09, 2021 2:12 pm **(#56)**

Here is a shot with a boathouse. Not quite a village but i am searching for what i did with that other pic
I changed lightness to get the sky bluer and a little saturation, then Diego's D-with-GEGL

@sallyanne: Indeed!

@leftyleo: That looks like a nice, warm summer day. It's a nice effect overall.

A little late to set the next RAP, but here it is - another environment to portray!

Deadline: Sunday May 23
Category: Environment
Prompt: A tree of life

oldmangrumpy · **Posted:** Thu May 13, 2021 6:04 pm **(#59)**

Griatch - apologies for missing the last couple of RAPs; hope this one makes up for that.

Not strictly environmental but here is the tree of life with the doves of peace.

Griatch · **Posted:** Sun May 16, 2021 9:11 am **(#60)**

@oldmangrumpy

No worries, everyone has different amounts of time.

That's a nice result - the twisting branches remind me of
the genetic tree of life as well! Since most of the image is a little dithered, it makes the doves and the straight lines of the ground under the tree extra 'sharp', which an interesting effect.
