i like that the layers are still there. I can experiment with the initial settings , then turn layers on/off and even adjust the layers too
--it is fun to see what happens. sometimes good sometime terrible but they usually make me laugh at how bad. But that is how you learn

That's one good way of playing with the results, Leftyleo; other way I use is:
- activating the top layer, apply trial mode and opacity

I often forget about opacity .. i made a minor rework on a scary forest pic and added mist/fog by making cloud noise and bringing opacity way down ( i would post the image here but its not related to your filters )
