these are some of my favorite animals, beautiful and elegant, yet still wild and need to be respected.

If you want to use this effect on portraits or delicate images. It's a good way to get a nice effect if you leave the final result layer at Overlay with only the original image (at the bottom)

Images of flowers.
During some tests I discovered that in many cases it could be helpful a preliminary strong "sharpening" of the source images.
It's what I did in the 2.nd and 3.rd of these outcomes.
