The sky i did with Filters Unlimited/Render blue and white clouds.
Then i ran Redfields/Fractalus plug-in on it.This plugin isn't free it costs about 60 USD.
But i do sooo much with this one filter it was worth the cost. And the effects on just about any image are just short of amazing.Anyways after that....
Then i created a layer of text (red to white gradient fill.)..Your results will depend on text size and style of font i used SANS and added a border of 7 pixels to make it bolder.
Then i ran dd's bevel script on it.(keeping the bump map separate from the text in two different layers)
After that i ran Fractalus on just the text layer.I have 4 settings in this plugin i created myself. This is Zone_1.
I used Zone_4 on the sky...just a bit spikier and brighter than Zone_1.
Fractalus has awesome results on gradient fills.
Then i merged it all together.

It probably can be done without the Redfield filter , but would take a lot longer to get this result.
Too do that i would use a cracked layer (image) on overlay mode above the sky. Then add some lighting effects.
The text would be much harder to do without Fractalus.Maybe could be accomplished with IWARP?
Anyways i had fun with it...i was adding 8bf filters to my path folder and restarting Gimp each time to check for compatibility. Then i just got this idea when i started playing with Redfields filters.

Thanks for the kind comments folks!
