I don't think you need to go to filters settings.. With the 80 frames it will go to combine. I would leave it there (instead of replace) then do you optimize (difference), you will end up with one combined animation and the rest will look like they are transparent.

Very nice, Ana. I like your Gimp world :gimp

:ninja'd by molly a little.

Ana, your world is spinning at the same rate as the rest of them. I looked at yours in gimp and all of the layers are set at (100ms)(combine).

When you ran Optimize (Difference) if a speed was not designated before running it, the speed is automatically set at (100ms)

When saving in gif format, changing the speed in the last dialog will NOT change the speed of your animation if it is already set (which yours was). To change it to 200ms, you would have had to change it before saving the image.

Before you run the Spinning Globe filter, name your layer: globe (200ms). That will make all of the frames at 200ms.

80 frames set at 200ms will make the sphere turn with jerks instead of smoothly. The only way you can slow it down and have it turn smoothly is to make the spinning globe with more frames.

I've made a demo to show the difference. The one on the left is 100ms, the right is 200ms, both with 80 frames.

If you want to change the speed AFTER you have run the Spinning Globe filter you will need saulgoode's anim-settings-semiflatten.scm - Filters > Animation > Settings with Semi-Flatten. When setting the speed for an animation with a combined background, be sure to UNCHECK the semiflattening feature and just change the speed. <O note: See my post here.>

I've attached the script below because I can't find it online. Put it into your .gimp-2.6 / scripts folder.

I always like lots of frames. I used 200 frames at 100ms.

After thinking about this awhile, I realized that the colored background filled in the semi-transparent pixels and it wouldn't matter if semi-flatten were checked. Forget what I said there, I just like to quote myself. :lol

It's not running smoothly - it's jerking as it spins. I downloaded your picture and re-set the speed at 100ms. It's slower than your 80-framed one. If you add more frames, you still need to leave the setting at 100ms. The more frames there are the longer it takes to run them.

Yes..it's not running nice..your's good :) so you say that i leave the speed to 100ms whether i put 80,100 or 200 frames for spinning

Yes. Leave the speed at 100ms.

You will not even need to do anything to the frame speed because Optimize (Difference) will set the speed at 100ms.

Perfect! :bigthup

Something you might consider is that we read from left to right and spinning the planet from right to left will make the text read the way we read.

This demo is extreme, but shows what I'm trying to say better.
