There are compiler warnings, so maybe the packet wasn't built.

Why would it pass and not be built?

The script fu updates are done and GIMP team just removed a few more blocklist from GIMP 3 RC1 to do after for the big GIMP 3 release. GIMP 3 RC1 is really soon, but my concern is the pass through crop update not being finished which makes my plugins go really slow.

My concern is the commits (jobs and pipelines) are down. With a 500 error which means it's on their side. And just before the site went down i was getting commits that would load the splash screen, but then Gimp would crash.
It did show an error about black and white icons. Possibly missing in the last few commits. Might cause the splash to load Gimp but not show the Gimp window?

Rod: Do you run GIMP in multi-window mode by chance? If so, we had a report that might be related: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/12216

The API finalization in GIMP 2.99.19 is done

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/11661

The only issues left are the following

1. Wayland only crap
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/8016
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/7665
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/11977

2. niche bugs like a color picker warning

3. Color invasion priorties described as (
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/9947

3.1 Color selection in Colors dockable should have both generic space selection methods and selection relative to the active image.

3.2 Blend Space perceptual seems broken with a non-perceptual imaged as what it does (didn't look at the code, just

3.3 In-GIMP color palette creation should also be color-space aware.
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/3015

4. The passthrough clip bug
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/m ... uests/1902

5. Some bug that doesn't make sense because it was filed 19 years ago and GIMP doesn't have Linked layers anymore. I only listed it because GIMP team put it on the milestone list.

Jehan just closed a bunch of issues. GIMP 3 RC1 is very close!!! But many bugs still remain unsolved. Truth be told I think Jehan wants a new version out just because 2.99.18 is so far behind for bug reports to matter.

RC1 could be out dare I say the day after tomorrow :D

- but remember there is currently an issue where my text plugins go slow and this is assumed rc1 bug.

Once RC1 is released this thread will be abandoned by me, and then I am going to make a new thread called "GIMP 3 finale" in which we discuss after RC1 with gegl:crop problems finally being fixed. btw my coverage of GIMP 2.99.17 (before 2.99.18) is here

This will be released to the world tomorrow. Jehan already tagged the master branch post rc1 so I will cover what is next in the other thread.

Yup i noticed that this morning. 3.0.0 Gimp Release Candidate 1! It's very exciting. I wonder how many folks realize this version adds layer effects? In other words non destructive editing. Pretty awesome. :)
