About the example shown here, in my filter sketch I used a Curve Adjustment
layer to move and adjust the darkest or black areas in my filter sketch. What it does is give you
a little more details by changing how much black is being shown. The Curves setting shown
here is another option you can use in the tutorial for step 10 (a).

This is an example of what you can create with this Filter Sketch Tutorial.
Again this is just an example and not the golden rule. But a good place to start with.

This image has the Filter Sketch as a base and then a cross-hatch sketch
above it. Blended together only using blending modes, and opacity adjustments.
Because of the black jacket reflection, and the face and hands are very light and faint
in details. Otherwise, it wouldn't work with only sketch ideal. Hope this helps.

This frame is for a 6" x 9" @ 128Ppi - PNG

I really enjoyed following your tutorial, TeaMouse. It’s another gem.
Now I don't know which of the two methods I like better.
I have had to reduce the size to be able to post the outcome.
Thank you so much for it, and for the time and patience you put into preparing this step-by-step tutorial.
Many thanks, TeaMouse. :tyspin :clap

Try using a filter sketch first, then apply the cross hatch on top of that.
