Tried several layer modes with the G'MIC layer over the original image. Divide made it look more snowy.

I upgraded to 1507, put in a photo, opened gmic, refreshed...and nothing new. Closed Gimp, opened gimp, opened a photo, opened gmic, refreshed...again nothing new. Hmmm, now what.

**vaguely remember something about going in and checking off all the contributors names so I did that and refreshed again and VOILA` ! Got the new ones. What would I do without Gimpchat!!!!

try going into GMIC/about/additional filters. check photocomix & apply. then redo the update on GMIC's filters.

O those are great looking and so different when you apply the different layer modes.

Before I found this site my GIMP was very basic now its exploded with scripts and plug-ins and this is just the latest great find thanks

And my problem was solved by clicking each name then applying then refreshing so have about 70 more ilters now

Humm...also O tree has that pattern visible in the black...Maybe David knows from where that dot pattern came...not always but often

Oh well glad you have some fun with it, crayon graffiti is funny but may be really messy, that peeled crayon may go everywhere especially under the shoes till somebody notice what is happening to the floor...

That is in all of the ones I've done. I downloaded 2-ton's picture that appears to have an all black background but zooming way in shows that the background is black and very dark red checks.

This is the top of the Christmas tree I posted zoomed in. Perhaps it's the equivalent of dithering?

For that pattern i am clueless i almost tough was not real but something in my monitor..too bad that is real

Well actually I don't know what's not to like about that patterning. I kind of like it. This was a black silhouette of a seahorse that I selected and filled with a gradient. Unselected and ran the filter.

That is very pretty. I like the edges.

Hy O the pattern is created by "Fast Approximation" if enabled

Now that i know how to avoid it , unchecking the Fast Approximation box i sort of like more that pattern

And yes fit well in your last very elegant

Great plug-in PC. I have to mess with it some more to get it better but I love the effect.

Kingfisher looks great with this filter. And I like that patterning when you use the silhouettes and gradients, but it's good to know how to turn it off when you don't want it!

I finally did one where I liked my result. I really like this filter, but I normally have problems getting it to look like I want it too. Thank you PhotoComiX.

very nice effect jb2u. I like the way it just shows the ground and the tree at the left. The black background gives it a nice feeling of the bird looking off into the night.
