I just upload a new Artistic filter for Gmic Color Stamp
THE FILTER IS IN GMIC Artistic/ Color Stamp

and the effect

As you may see the filter is very simple, the effect is analog to gimp Colors/Threshold ...but much more colorful

basically the filter create 2 dup from the original, to the first is applied threshold, automatically or with user input
and this image is used for the black filling and outline

adding to that the color of the original as they were would have given awful result:
solid black filling and outlines doesn't merge well with photographic colors...would be complex explain why but if you try should become evident that doesn't work well

So the second duplicate used for the color is posterized (more exactly quantized but the result is similar) and optionally smoothed ...and as you may see from the examples color merges well...at least in most of the cases

It is a simple filter for a quick effect, for the black you may chose a automatic level or set the threshold with the slider
Quantize Color set the number of colors...not exactly a numeric correspondence but less the value more colors are simplified
Color Smoothness control blur

and oh well if any question suggestion or whateles let me know

It's there now and works nice with a little tickle on the settings.

Now gmic has a new -autoindex command, i still have to test it if works as i hope i will make soon a new version -index should allow a more exact and intuitive control on the number of colors to be used and more likeness with the original colors

Very interesting filter, PhotoComix.

This image I had to lower the threshold a lot because it made the right side almost entirely black.

The finished one kind of looks like the colors were indexed and blurred a bit. I've included an indexed one for show and tell.

Hy O ...exactly! you guess are right !
the idea was to index the original colors and blur them a bit , and then add the black pixel from threshold
(even them very slightly blurred)
Gmic had not a exact equivalent of index ,( maybe now it has but my first try was not too successful) so result may diverge a bit but that was the idea
