I found a few useful scripts, new to me. The ones that caught my eye were, "Motivational Poster Maker" and "Draw Arrow".

hah, I thought I would be keeping my gimp 2.8 clear of all the extra stuff I have in 2.6, but I have caved and started adding things like these scripts.
