G'MIC extrusion and wireframes

Oregonian got me started on this after seeing her pictures on the lathe thread. Thought I would experiment with the extrusion filter. David just keeps me in awe. Can't wait to refresh G'MIC everyday to see what's in store...Thanks David!

Hey PC! I am actually trying to extrude pieces of a car one at a time to make it look more legit. Not having a lot of success due to the axis deformations (you have to get it just right).

Oregonian: make sure to upgrade to 1.4.4.1 to get the new contours effects working properly. What do you mean by paths to the filters? You mean make it work with paths?

PS yes there is also a new minor update of the gmic core, needed to make 1 of the filters working properly

My bad, PC, I thought that's what O meant, but since I was following one of her posts, I assumed she knew where it was.

I'm still tinkering with the contour filters. I like your request filter best. It's similar to Lyle's other preset.

Already toyed with the extrude preset already. David really has been out doing himself of late. Like PC; happy I am too. Very cool result and use of wireframe setting too Mahvin.

How did you make the letter shapes come out in the 3dlathing tool with a wire frame? I put one letter in and it just made a randomish shape. Do you do the extrude filter first?

Here's a possible setting Rod. Play with the sliders for better result.

Greg, your animation is brilliant. Looks like some more exploration is in order for me. :shock:

I don't know what you used for animating yours. I used GAP. It's not nearly as nice as yours.
