i need help with fonts...

i know you can make your own brushes in gimp. i know you can down load brushes into gimp but here is my question....can you add fonts to gimp as well or not...i need a certain font for a picture i want to do...i will find a picture of the style of font i am looking for...and post it here...thanks to anyone who can help me....

There is a Gimp Font folder.
C:\Users\[user]\.gimp-2.8\fonts

here is the type of font i am looking for...i am not sure the name of this font..i think it maybe be hobo or hobby headline...like i say i am not sure about the name of the font but here is what i am looking for....

if you can't download fonts is there one like this in gimp already.... please i hope someone can help me...

If I remember correctly, Gimp comes with no fonts, instead Gimp uses the system fonts you already own (installed or not, btw).

Now, if you're looking to identify a font, you can try both methods:

At least on Windows gimp ,regardless of the setting used (, even if that path is unchecked in the preferences ) load always all the font in C:Windows/font

but you may add fonts to be read only by gimp locally, inside that font empty font folder, in case set the path using Edit/preferences/folder/font...once done remember to click ok before exit from preferences ( i suggest because i often forgot with very delusive results :gaah

)

That Gimp font folder may be useful also for fonts that doesn't show up...may happen that they will work if copied in that font folder
(in any case there are a few fonts that for some reason gimp can't support, but should be rare cases )
