Really nice, like the contrast between the shiney gold and the brushed metal.

You are becoming very good with metal. I'm very impressed with this latest creation. I tried to do something similar just fooling around a month or so ago and had the same problem with the bump map process. It's very difficult, if not impossible to get the underneath layer to look intact and not have the bevel on either side of an overlapping section. Yours still looks incredibly good!

Thank you both. It is a tricky one Drac. I'm still working on trying to create a metallic sphere as well. Some things aint so easy!

Very nice Erisian ..hem  ...so nice that i could not resist the temptation to tweak in some seamless patterns

I know i should have asked first, but then i did one and i was hooked... i just could not stop

Thank you everybody. I like your tweaks PC. Don't worry about asking if ever you want to use my stuff - you're welcome.

Thanks Barbie. I was thinking that myself but I had stupidly saved the flattened xcf so I can't do a lot with it now. I am working on another knot though and I'm going to be rendering it a number of different ways.

erisian: yaaay! knotwork :)! well done, brother, it looks a lot like the kind of celtic jewellery you'd find at a goldsmith's in ireland or scotland. have to agree with draconian that you're getting very good with metal, the grumpy amateur silversmith has no issues with this one ;) . (except of course for that beveling thing, but how could that possibly be fixed? i've been wondering that for ages myself and have no solution in sight)
photo comix: delicious patterns, can i borrow them?
