the reason i made this tutorial is twofold
on the one hand i want everybody to understand how to make layerfx effects by hand
thats why i included the inner shadow (i found this technique on some obscure german site)
the trick with the curves was something inspired by saulgoode's answer to LT72884's gradient problem from this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5789i knew how to make contours with curves on alpha (another thing i learned from researching layerfx and a bit of inspiration from Draconian), but after saulgoode's mini tutorial, i felt that everybody needs to understand the power of this little trick, hoping that more will be born out of this knowledge
the trick how to make gloss by offsetting a highligt layer and then using the intersect, came from some other german tutorial and you can also make that with a saved channel (thats how they did it)
i just find a path easier to use, as you can see it in red when its activated and move around with the move tool
currently i try to explore the secret of the Satin layerfx effect, so lets see what will happen next
