Is there any way to make the preview in IWARP larger?
Also can a a brush outline be implemented so we know how much area we're effecting?

Thanks PC

Yes there is , PhotoComix showed this some years ago . works with my Gimp 2.6.

Another method is to set an image preview parm in the gimprc (I think) file. that is permanent. but is a nuisance for most applications

ok cool, but this only works if the image is larger than the canvas, if you're working with a 400x300 image it's not gonna scale up. Is there a way to scale the preview box of a smaller image like that up???

Mike, I cannot make a small image stretch as you request. For a more in depth discussion see http://forum.meetthegimp.org/index.php?topic=873.0
btw, I said Gimprc before, the actual file to alter is Gtkrc

That sucks, but thanks anyway. Hopefully someone can add that option in.

zoomable preview are possible in Gimp
but if not implemented in the plugin. than the plugin should be rewritten.

In theory you may even rewrite plugin as GEGL apps, that will allow a real time preview on the image windows (and so also to zoom in as much you wish)

I know less than you, and i am sure you know more about coding

I may just give you a tip. hopefully a good one.

First look to a simple gimp filter that has a equivalent GEGL operation... as example Tool /Gegl Operation/ Gaussian blur
Then confront the code with that of of the standard gaussian blur filter.

That may be a good starting point, and you may ask more details and help on the gimp ( and/or gegl) developer list or on the gimp IRC

PS

Note that i am not sure if the real time preview on the image window may be used as a option or will just replace the standard preview
( that may be not too good with very intensive filters)

What i actually meant about the size (i know how to do it manually..lol)
PC created some real nice larger preview plug-ins, tile small..ect... ect.

What i wanted to know was PC can you rebuild the IWARP plug-in so it has the same large preview?
600x400 when it opens, and give the brush a outline.

Gegl mascot........
Historically, the GEGL mascot, a five legged goat envisioned and brought to life by George Lebl, found life as an easter egg in GNOME desktops

You know you live too close to the nuclear power plant when all your goats are five-legged. :rofl

What's frightening is that I live mere minutes from Americas oldest remaining Nuke Plant! Maybe that explains having 7 toes on each foot!
