I can tell you the flow but even I have pause as to be able to reproduce this one. lol

Started out usng the Voronoi Stippler (with added patch), then fed that result into G'MIC's Stencil followed by G'MIC's Gradient Norm multiple times to get a template which I used G'MIC's Shape Average for colorization. Did various blends too which I can't remember (well too lazy to recall) to get the contrasted color fills. Click on the image for the hirez. As for the title, do a search on Chuck Close. :)

that is trippy for sure. It kinda looks like plant cells and that some are dividing.

lol

I know; I know. Crazy I am. This one, as the new title suggested, is all aboriginal. Learned a lot of things since Selection Islands Fill first came into being a few years back now. The flow here is as follows, Run G'MIC Stencil, followed by G'MIC's Gradient Norm (bump up the smoothness slider), followed again by G'MIC Stencil (same settings) to create the template with G'MIC's Shape Average for colorization and then blended in a background texture. Maybe can be all done with a new G'MIC preset, but, again, I'm an ideas guy and not a coder. lol

:)

Thanks Zward. Wish I could say I invented the ability to create these, but smarter guys then me came up with the tools. I just blended the results of them in a particular way to get this result. :)

My jaw is on the floor. I had no idea a bunch of points could turn into such a nice piece of original art work. Absolutely amazing work.

Appreciate the comments/feedback Zward/Sahab. I actually was going to check your website out to see if you released your update yet. It's working flawlessly now and again, thanks for the updated patch. Not sure how aware you are of G'MIC. It's a pretty powerful tool that I use for just about all my edits (other tools besides the artistic ones like sharpening and smoothing for instance). The Stencil preset and Gradient Norm preset definitely can convolve things in ways that still amazes me. Below's the G'MIC Flickr Sahab. :)
