Then you are using an old version of the plugin.
Make sure to download and install the latest one. You are right that it used to be very, VERY slow. I had to convert to xcf in GIMP so I didn't have to save to ORA more than necessary. But the latest ora-reader plugin is, while not quite as fast as xcf-saving, very fast. Fast enough to make it worthwhile for me to work completely in ORA when working on a picture using these two programs.

Compared to the complexity of setting it up, is there any real advantage (besides maybe saving a few seconds) of sending a file between the programs rather than simply saving in one, open in the other?
