Was thinking of making a kind of window/hatch that might be seen on a ship of some kind and here it is.

Very nice Wallace, you could try a blurred white stripe across the glass to enhance it slightly.

That sounds like a good idea, can you show me what you're referring to, with an image of the white stripe, using the xcf file that I've attached to this post?

You'll have to wait as I am not near a copy of gimp at the moment but have a search for window vector/clip art and you should get the idea.

Nice one, Wallace. :bigthup

This is a perfect image to use to see what interesting things peeps can come up with to view from the port.

You probably wouldn't want to see this on a foggy night. :hehe

Yes, It's supposed to be a ghost ship, but I might have added a little too much fog. :hehe

The source image is public domain.

That looks very threatening... I can see why it is called a ghost ship. I can visualize a bunch of modern day pirates or smugglers on that.

The ghost ship is perfect there
About the image be of public domain i have much doubts on that site, i found highly suspicious that in no any of the image there there is a indication of the author ...

And even their disclaimer is highly suspect " All wallpapers and backgrounds found here arebelieved to be in the "public domain". All of the images displayed are of unknown origin

They distribute images ...but they don't know where they found them ?
not a single referral link ? Very convenient for that site owner "believe " that are of public domain :hoh

If i don't know the origin of a image, i can't know if is copyrighted or not ...Statistically most images are not CC , and anyway the site violate CC principle (no one author is credited )

You might be right about that site, PC. But, if an image is truly "Public Domain", no attribution is required, right?

nothing wrong with you using here , you even credit the source , it is not your fault if that source doesn't respect the author work

but as example use often imagines from that site for work to be post on Deviantart ,flickr or similar may ...cause embarrassing situations...soon or later possible public or private remarks of the real authors

What the site does seems clear to me : they collect good images, they "forgot" from where and they "suppose" all of Public Domain
If you do not agree because the image are yours and not in public domain, they will so kind to remove them, and kept the business with all the others

Are really all too good to not be signed, too recent to be of Unknown author (that may happen to much older images )
