@ Rod - Ah, I see. That makes sense now. I've tried shifting the hue with the "Hue & Sat" filter but I hadn't tried colorize yet. I guess that would colorize the highlights too. :hehe

Looks really nice, Graechan. :bigthup

What background pattern are you using? is it one of your personal patterns or can I download it somewhere?

That is very cool Graechan. It is nice the way you used the same background as the text. I like it a lot.
I lifted your pattern too...thanks.

Quick tip the easiest way to create a bump map is to select the text and save as channel and blur the channel

Nice renders, Graechan and thanks for the cool patterns! :hehe

Using a map from the new version of EnviroMap, here's another glittery one :mrgreen:

I actually skipped applying lighting the 2nd time, as there was really no need.

excellent results here, I played some more, still with the glitter effect except this time after I had finished I ran the plastic or glass script with tint colour set to 808080, then set this layer above text and set to grain merge and reduced opacity to 75%.

Once you've created your text following the tut, open a new transparent layer above and select.
Then go>Filters>Noise>Hurl you can run on default settings.
Then go>Colours>Desaturate and check the luminosity option
Finally set your layer mode to "Dodge".

He4rty Thank you!
Never noticed this filter "Hurl".
I thought those glitterys were patterns or brushes. Better so!

Very nice guys. I love them both. Did you start out with black text? Or grey.

Sally, I would venture to point to each of these possible causes:
Blur insufficient or;
Applying BumpMap upon layer incorrect. or;
You have repeated the filter lighting & effects 2 times? or;
Are you using the parameter Maximum Height 0.01?

you cant really bumpmap black, can you ?
you can bumpmap white, but then you just see the dark bits
thats why i use the 50ies grey for all my bumpmapping stuff (#808080)

my guess is bumpmapping black, as in this tutorial, works because of the change in colour from the environment-map
