Hi there,

Version 1.5.8.0 of the G'MIC framework has been released today. Binaries for Linux are already available (including an update of the popular plug-in for +GIMP ), Windows and Mac versions should (likely) follow this week.

We are still looking for contributors for this project. For instance, we still don't have an easy-to-use installer for Win64 machines !

Also, no Changelog has been written for this version (and it's too bad, because there are a lot of improvements and optimizations). We invite you to update as soon as possible because new filters will be added only for this new version from now.

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas everyone !

OK; went ahead and compressed all returned files from 1.5.8 64-bit GIMP plugin compile. The file name is GMIC-GIMP-1.5.8.0 64bit-WIN.zip and it's just under 4 MB in size. :)

Thank you Lylejk this version works well :)

Rod, I'll compile a temporary version (you must not mix the DLL and declare the directory in preferences Gimp).

Thanks for this Lyle!
Extremely slow download from your host though.
Peddle faster. :hehe It's a long way to Oz.
Or maybe it's a hint to stop hosting Windows executables on a Linux host :hehe
Yeh Hah! It just finished while typing this message. Only took 3 mins. ;)

Price paid for being free FB (one of the reasons I use to only include the compiled plugin; lol). Still, when you clicked, you got no add; also allows for direct clicking. How many free sites allow that now? Ubuntuone has it's good days too, but it is quite slow today, I'll admit. Still, I'm appreciative and greatful. Ubuntu may still be my future OS as well when I decide to upgrade. Depends on how well WINE works. :)

edit:

Just as a side note, if you already have 64-bit GMIC working, all you need to do with this zipped file is extract the executable; other files should already be in your plugins directory. :)

In Lyles 64bitwin Gmic download you need to rename libpng16-16_.dll to libpng16-16.dll

Sam all i had to do was replace the _gmic folder and the gmic_gimp.exe files. Add the libjpeg dll file and everything worked excellent, even updating. Thank you. :ninja :ninja

Now i just need to update the pluginrc file to re locate the G'MIC menu item and i am all set. :)

David,
Check the [1] G'MIC reference documentation link in About | Filter design.

Don't want to sound impatient, but I can't see it on the sourceforge website - Is there a Windows 32 bit one yet? For computer hard drive, not portable.

Bonjour,

@Sallyanne

There is no difference between "computer hard drive" versions and "portable computer".
I advise you to use only the "computer portable" versions that are better constructed and are provided with more libraries ... but everyone is free ...

Unfortunately there are not many 32-bit versions :
- http://www.aljacom.com/~gmic/gimp_2_8_1 ... ortable.7z
- 2.8.6 versions on http://partha.com/
- Avoid http://portableapps.com/apps/graphics_p ... p_portable site versions because they use file compression ( http://upx.sourceforge.net/ ). This slows down the functioning and may affect the operation of some plug-ins.

64-bit versions :
- http://www.aljacom.com/~gmic/gimp_2_8_1 ... rtable.zip
- http://partha.com/downloads/Gimp-2.8-10-64bit.exe This version is more limited number of plug-ins and features (only 64 bit plug-ins work)

Not officially on the G'MIC download page yet Sallyanne. But Sam did compile a version that worked for me. All you need to do is unzip it and move it's _gmic folder, gmic_gimp.exe, and libjpeg-9.dll files to the plugins folder overwriting the others that you have there already. Then restart Gimp-2.8.10, load GMIC and click the refresh filters button. This worked for me. See my image example of it running in my post above. Download the 32 bit version in zip format here.
