Wow, I didn't realize this thread had 7 pages,
I wanted to pick out a couple that I liked best but there is no way. They are all so different . It would be impossible to pick out the best.
Kudo's to all 7 pages of you.

i totally agree with molly! no way to pick a favourite here, it's all amazing. great job, all of you!
here's my contribution.

the second image is a bit of a failure. i knew i wanted to try and make a stained glass window but i was dead set on not using the stained glass filter or polygonise filter. i can't remember exactly what i used, but it took a lot of time and didn't turn out as nice as i had hoped.

the first one is a tribute to draconian, who's a member here but not active at the moment. he posted a thread on an accidental pattern here last year and it's still inspiring me. here's the thread: http://www.gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=3515&hilit=accidental+pattern i've used a very similar technique, but i started with a black image in g'mic, then rendered a fractal snowflake and ran the warhol filter. after that i used lylejk's painting and a very slight touch of dream smoothing before i used the graphic novel filter, rodilius and two special effects that i often use in g'mic: jayprich's specular bumps (set to lighten only) and jayprich's gradient smooth (with grey removed by g'mic color replace and then set to overlay). for the frame i duplicated the black layer i started with (i always keep all the layers i can), removed the black with color replace and made a frame on it with frames/frame(regular). then i used the box fitting filter, removed the black with colour replace an put some special effects on it using rodilius and graphic novels. i've used the layer blending modes in g'mic in places too, so this simple image actually took me on a sort of g'mic round tour :).

An abstract painting look.

1. 3d random objects
2. Grain
3. Raindrops
4. Abstraction
5. RGB tone
6. Hope poster

But the last filter (number 6.) have little opacity and a different opacity mode.

Here is something more. Its fun to play and test all the filters. Started with 1920x1080 and got unusual image size with Array filter. And yes, I've used the color balance twice in a row.

1. Snowflake
2. Arry [mirrored]
3. Kaleidoscope [blended]
4. Color balance
5. Color balance
6. Infrared simulation

Ok, here I tried to make an object, two eyes. You can exclude it from the album if you want. I am showing it just for fun.

1. 3d colored object
2. Euclidean - polar
3. Fish-eye
4. 3d colored object
5. Array [mirrored]

I don't want spam here, so this is my last sample for now. Btw, I have all images in higher quality, if needed.

I can't remember everything I did but it involved mandelbrot/julia rendering, kaleidoscope (symmetry) and various layer modes and some colour filters.

Nice.

Just a tip: you can set GMIC to produce new layer with renamed to filter settings every time you use a filter. It needs only one setting and is for that session only. On GMICs window the most left you can find it. I am not on my PC now and I use German version , so I can't help now. Something like output new layer or so.

Thanks - I had never really thought about it before. Here is a further variation.

You guys are sure having fun with this thread. I can't compliment on any of them, cuz they are all good. Aris, I can see the face in the center of this last one you did. He just needs some hair now.
