...starting fresh and anew an using Iron Browser for my aging XP. Going to miss the address bar history option, but I can live with that. I've tested several browsers and Chose Iron since I want to stay away from Google tracking stuff as far as possible. Chrome is pretty fast and so is Iron which uses Chrome's core. Decided to use the installer instead of portable version (my bias). Again, thanks for the info samj. :)

Can I say I'm extremely liking Iron now. Very customizeable, very quick, and uses a whole lot less CPUs for my XP then IE ever did. Again, thanks a heap samj; I got it set up for prime time now and saved the VM snapshot. :)

I'd like to try that out. Is it a 32-bit or 64? Because I need 32.

I'm using 32-bit since it's in my XP VM. Link below. Also, found a cool work-a-round for the address bar issue since I first posted; like I said, it's extremely customizeable. Originally, I was using the portable version which samj also uses, but I liked it so much that I just using the full install version now. :)

Hi Lyle. Does the flash plugin and java seem pretty stable for Iron? I have been getting a bunch of script stallouts with Firefox lately with Flash and Javascripts. Getting real tired of that. Also can you import your faves to Iron from Mozilla?

I will install Iron if it meets those criteria.

Thanks to you and Sam for the tip. :)
Hope to see Sam post here again soon.

EDIT: Never mind i figured it all out after installing. Very nice. :bigthup

I've had no issue play swf (the kaleidoscope that I shared earlier) or any youtube videos. I did install the Flash plugin for non-IE browsers of course (use the one for Chrome as I recall since Iron is pretty much Chrome). I didn't even try to see if it wasn't part of Iron itself; via the Iron browser, I went to Adobe's site and installed. One cool thing too; Hardware acceleration works flawlessly in Iron (wouldn't in IE8 for me). Hope that answers your questions Rod. My XP VM is very happy and spiffy once again. CPU's are at only 8% (asleep compared to when I had IE running). :)

Just realized I can view aPNG files (well thought I could but couldn't). I checked the forums and found an aPNG plugin for Chrome and it works perfectly fine in Iron too. Saw some of Molly's animations and said to myself, yeah. lol

I really am liking Iron. Supports HTML5 too which is cool. Best decision I've made in a long time. :)
