Thank you so much for compiling, Pogogogo. From your screenshot, it looks like V.6 has the dialog in front of the taskbar. :)

Molly, when you get a chance, could you test out V.6 in Windows? Does a tall script's dialog, like in Graechan's test script, initially appear in front of the taskbar now?

Also, can you drag and drop now?

Rod, after the initial compile, you can just run make & make install from the gimp\plug-ins\script-fu\ folder to compile the plug-in. That might work without doing a full compile. At least, it might throw some messages, telling you what else is needed.

Tux the dialog opens in front of my taskbar but drops so the entire bar is visible.
But i need only grab the window and lift a little and its good to go.

Ok I am back to Windoze
Thank you Pogo

1. Logo Dialogue on top
2. Sliders appear when resizing
3. Gradient still doesn't drag-n-drop.
4. Dialogue easy to resize to move beside the main window
5. Cool :teeth
I will wait for 15 mins then go back to Fedora

@Rod - So in Windows 8, it starts out in full screen mode, then immediately drops below the taskbar but it doesn't resize. That's interesting behavior. With the taskbar on top, you might prefer V.5. If V.5 doesn't get pushed below the taskbar, your dialog's header would be hidden, while the bottom action buttons would still be visible.

Can you test this and let me know how V.5 behaves?

Thanks!

@Molly - What happens when you try to drag & drop?

Are you sure you are dropping onto a gradient? We know patterns don't work. Can you try dragging and dropping a font or a color?

The gradient will carry over to the other window but won't drop. I tried it several times on a couple different scripts.

I know you initially had trouble in Linux but drag and drops works fine in Fedora.

What about fonts or colors?

At the end of your drag, before you release the mouse button and the pointer is hovered over the drop target, does the mouse pointer change to a "+" plus sign?

ok, with great difficulty, holding my ipad and the mouse and clicking the switch, I got a pic of the gradient on its way to the other gradient, there is a little bracket in the corner and no + sign.

That little bracket should change to bracket with a plus sign in once your mouse directly over the target box.

Can you drag and drop gradients/fonts/colors to the script-fu dialog or are you having the same problem as Molly is having?

I tried it again with colors and patterns, I get the bracket and the + sign but it doesn't drop so I didn't gain anything.

Thanks for the info, Molly.

I don't think anyone with Windows has confirmed the ability to drag and drop onto a script or plug-in dialog. Perhaps it's not possible in Windows (Single Window Mode).

I'm going to have access to a Windows 7 PC for a brief time tomorrow, so I'll be able able to test this too.
