....space-time. lol

The range of 3D Blocks is just not good enough so I changed the range to 512 (from 128; this one was rendered at 256). Did a few other G'MIC tricks for the final resulting grid result. :)

Thanks; still hope David will create a true wireframe preset. The problem with 3D Elevation are many including not having the ability to choose grid spacing which the 3D-Blocks preset sort of allows you to do so (though indirectly). :)

Appreciate the comments. Been busy this morning (and lawnmower's on the brink so used the weedeating lawnmower trimmer to cut the front yard only; not ideal to say the least. lol). I sort of hinted at this thread the flow (you can thank gjg for pushing me again to pursue the wireframe render look which I've tried, on and off, for years to figure out). Got the brain fart for doing it by fake, but again, hopefully David will make a true wireframe preset to do these (3D elevation just doesn't cut it; maybe a remake of this preset will do). :)

lol; I actually needed to cut the grass over a week ago. Late compared to past years (last year, I actually cut the grass the last week of January). Temperature's definitely cooler then it has been in the past, but still, I remember, when growing up, not having to cut grass until April, so it's still too early to cut grass if you ask me, but the temperature's definitely been cooling the past 3 years were I live. Not so much in Europe though (heard that Germany didn't get a bit of snow this year; weird for sure). :)

Don't thank me; thank David T (Mr. G'MIC, or, more precise, Dr. G'MIC). If you don't have the G'MIC plugin, I highly recommend you do so gjg. :)

Contours>Laplacean does a better job then Contours>Isophotes or Contours>Gradient Norm but to use it as a mask, you have to play with it a bit. :)

I wouldn't even attempt those. They are your specialty and I am too lazy.

Thanks to Block 3D it really is pretty simple Molly. I did edit the range (Wordpad) for the preset to change it from 128 to 512 (though 256 appears to be the sweet spot for the resolution of images that I'm working with so may change it to that). :)

I've been learning to do 3D using a program called Curvy3D which is pretty easy to do compared to other 3D software and you can take a Hieghtmap image like this and import it using the inflate function which turns it into a 3D image.

Image

And with the image selected you can add a raster into the base image.

Image

Then just turn the angle and turn on the mesh and you get an image like this.

Image

If you don't turn the mesh on then it just paints right on the surface.
