You are a sweetie Graechan, I was trying to do paisley for sallyanne but I haven't got what I want yet. I was trying to put more than one brush on each pattern so they wouldn't all be the same .

@Graechan I know about the script you made previously. My computer doesn't like it though. It worked but always gave me an error message.I have downloaded this new one, deleted the old one because it didn't ask to be replaced and now it doesn't work at all.

@molly wouldn't multi brush fill do part of that? then you could make a pattern from what you have.

Thanks Graechan, I tried that with the paisleys but they didn't work out well. I will try it again with a colored brush that works better.

GIMP Error
Failed to load data:
Couldn't recognize the image file format for file 'C:\Users\name\.gimp-2.8\patterns\Thumbs.db'

This is after I restored the deleted one. So I have two scripts for 'pattern from image' now in the scripts folder. You may see more about that in the thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10167

Thankyou Molly

I didn't do anything though. I just used the Manhattan script on a filled in canvas of choice of pattern I just made.

Sallyanne you should only have 1 copy of 'Pattern from Image' in your scripts folder could you fix this please then restart gimp using the verbose command Starting gimp in CMD mode and replicate the steps that caused the error

I deleted both scripts. Then downloaded the most recent again but still got this error message
GIMP Error
Failed to load data:
Couldn't recognize the image file format for file 'C:\Users\name\.gimp-2.8\patterns\Thumbs.db'

I tried it a couple of times on different types of files. A jpg and png both RGB. The pattern saved the first time though and not the second - weird.

All I keep getting from the cmd prompt is it doesn't recognise verbose

Sallyanne Does this error appear during the running of the script or when trying to use the pattern

Note! :with rel3 the pattern should also be copied to the clipboard as well

sallyanne, see if this helps you run Gimp --verbose.
Running Gimp --verbose

Graechan,
it would be nice to have the possibility to specify where to store the generated pattern.
The reason for this is that I'm using Ofnuts' "Improved MRQ add-on manager", so I would like to put the new pattern NOT on the standard gimp pattern folder (this is managed by Ofnuts' manager).
Maybe this capability is already there...

Running Gimp --verbose

I have gimp 2.8.10 so put that where it had 2.8.4 - Didn't help at all

I booted up into windows, installed new script by Graechan and ran it. I opened a 32x32 layer, magnified it to 400 then made a selection in the center with the ellipse tool, then filled it with the yellow-black diagonal stripe pattern, then ran the script. Worked perfectly in windows. Thanks Graechan

NOTE: just for the heck of it I ran the verbose command just the way it said in the directions and I get the same error as sallyanne gets.
"C\program files\gimp 2\bin\gimp-2.8" --verbose
