When I run the script I get this message. It means: "Could not recognize the image format C \ Documents and Settings File ..."
However I get the image pattern and I can use it in a new image.

I know this is a silly question Carlos but did you download Graechan's latest version from the first post on this thread? Also, did you check for the old version and delete it.
I can't understand why the "thumbs.db" shows up in the path.

ok, I thought you probably did, but process by elimination sometimes works.
I always have the best luck when I just stay in Linux where everything seems to work... :teeth

Sallyanne Does this error appear during the running of the script or when trying to use the pattern

Note! :with rel3 the pattern should also be copied to the clipboard as well

Error message always shows up just after using script. I can use the patterns made with no problems at all.

great script….not sure how to make the pattern larger or smaller, but I only had time to do a quick trial and I think I saw some check boxes that I can try out next time.

The smaller the layer, the more images you will get but they will be tiny, I was using an 8 x 8, then magnifying to 800%, then pasting my brush or pattern in it, then run the script. click edit copy, then make a larger layer like 400x400 or any size then click your patterns and you saved pattern will be at the top left. Drag that over into your larger layer.

If you start out with a larger layer, the images will be less, but larger. Just experiment.

sallyanne, see if this helps you run Gimp --verbose.
Running Gimp --verbose

I have gimp 2.8.10 so put that where it had 2.8.4 - Didn't help at all
What is your path to Gimp?
Your path to Gimp will not have 2.8.4 or 2.8.10 that was only a guideline. Yours probably has Gimp 2 in that position.
Here are two ways to find your path, Running Gimp --verbose.

sally

i think the file you posted Thumb.db is a data base file and not an image file,
and should give an error, if in your pattern folder.

have a nice day

Sallyanne open your .gimp-2.8\patterns folder and search for thumbs.db

GIMP Error
Failed to load data:

Couldn't recognize the image file format for file 'C:\Users\Susan\.gimp-2.8\patterns\Thumbs.db'

I did what you asked but I didn't have the pattern in the centre of the gimp program like you had at first.

Get the same error with it anyhow.

Sallyanne if you get the same error when you refresh your patterns then the file 'C:\Users\Susan\.gimp-2.8\patterns\Thumbs.db' does exist in your patterns folder and should be deleted
I'll be here till we find it

I have a couple of Irfanview png files in there
Also there is another folder but I think it is the original patterns that came with the gimp and the ones in this folder are created or added extra.
Nope the second is all the patterns that were added for the 'bling' logo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just checked my C drive
Only in Themes for Gimp
Computer search shows same
