I tried the one you posted again and it does produce a result with a transparent background.

I believe if you blurred the center graphic or changed it to more of a specular light reflection or to the supernova effect, the center highlight would be more smooth.

Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner on this. I finally closed and reopened Gimp so that everything was refreshed. Made a new green gradient map and deleted the upper left corner with the eraser and added a white brush.

It finally worked.

Here is the map I used.

Glad to hear you got it going, O. Your result turned out excellent, almost like shiny plastic. :bigthup

That's a very cool result too, Molly. :2thup

Experimenting with the Supernova filter. I made a new layer for it and colored it yellow, hoping I could get a gold effect. It is a bit, but I think I need to make the yellow just a bit darker.

Beautiful, Graechan. I particularly like the second one but they're both cool.

I used a spiral gradient on this one and a gradient flare, distant sun on it.

Wow. Those are really interesting maps you made, Graechan. Hints about how you made them?

'O' I'm lazy so I knocked up a simple script to create them by selecting 2 gradients and bringing up Iwarp just as GnuTux said in his initial post

I have been super busy and finally have some time to play with gimp and catch up with gimpchat...I am making these quick and easy emaps, but find that I have completely forgotten how to use them for BRL. Could someone jot down the main steps again? I tried BRL, but all it seems to use are gradients in my gradient file, and I wanted to try out using homemade emaps.

Hopefully this will refresh your memory. An explanation of the script on Gimp Scripts.

Thanks .... off to read.

*ok here is my stumbling block...

If no external image is selected, Bevel Reflect Logo will generate a Spherical Environment Map from the selected gradient and Environment Map generation options specified by the user.

I do not know how or when to select this external image.
