Not a very practical building.
It probably takes up more square footage,
when compared to "normal" structures of it's size.
Most likely has very limited usable space inside as well.

Wow, I guess they have been making weird houses/buildings all along then.

I was thinking before that a person would do that - 'because they can'.
And also probably thought they would get in before an earthquake does it.

We have a similar monstrosity right next to a Victorian building in my city. Mariano Deuonni of Hassell designed the Roma Mitchell Law Courts for the Federal, Family and Federal Magistrates courts, and High Courts in Australia.

The green one has a stunning design. Absolutely love it.

What's next? Bilbao airport (also Gehry's design) not cool enough? Or Hadid's MAXXI museum design?
