Fractal: "A fractal is a natural phenomenon or a mathematical set that exhibits a repeating pattern that displays at every scale"

While some images clearly exhibit complex structures, I think it's not enough say they are fractal. Some of the flowers for instance, do not exhibit the same pattern at multiple scales. Looks a bit like a buzzword for clicking on the page :)

Indeed, I do believe that the word 'fractal' is used very loosely by the general public.

Fractals appear in many, many things in nature. Including the human body. Ratios of the hand, ratios of the body itself. Fractals appear "Everywhere" in nature. These are just a few:
