Yesterday I wanted to use a particular type of font for a message - Monarchia
I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get a rounded look on all of the smaller lines so they show up better
I tried 3D Gradient bevel on one but found it to be still too flat

Gosh Sallyanne, I don't know if this would be possible unless you made a duplicate layer and selected the parts you want to change, then use one of the filters.

Try bevel and emboss on the text layer with these settings.

Thanks Rod - I did try that before with cone as the surface contour - (Should have mentioned it) and also bump map but it still leaves areas I want round, flat. Maybe I am asking the impossible. I tried mh3d bevel before too and it does it every direction except up, that I could see. Could I try an environment/sphere map on this? and would it do what I want?

Yeah I know, I want the impossible.
Getting close - Bevel Reflect is close. My lines always seem broken though :(

Got rid of the white background and drop shadow and then tried to anti-alias the edges with this one, Sallyanne (and it's on transparent background). :)

And, of course, why not a bit of BRL. :)

Glad to see you got it working. =)
My next suggestion was going to be the GT Bevel script by Tux

Thank you Lyle, that might help with the rough edges. :) Or do you think I could blur the edges a bit, before or after bevelling? I have never had much luck with BRL before.
Thanks Rod :)

Thanks Rod :)

You can blur the edge within the BRL script.
However,
I find that BRL can be a bit aggressive with the blur and I always do this afterward.
