Hi all,

Some years ago I downloaded the 3D program Blender. All went well until a few months ago.
I don't have a new computer, nothing has changed except that Blender opens but has this problem

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7arO0ocS4w

It almost doesn't react anymore.
I did try the solution described below the video, but without success.

Can somebody help?

Thanks in advance.

Ella

Hi Ella Louise.

I think your laptop ar lack of Ram and maybe your HD ar full. HD need at least 25 GB empty space to work.

Check your HD how much empty space you have left and how much Ram you have.

Try to delete Blender and reload Blender 2.79.

Hi Lurifax73,

I have 8GB Ram on my laptop, on the C - HD there is still 118 GB available.

Deleted Blender twice and reloaded it (the version already was 2.79)
Still the same problem.

That's what so strange about it. It worked a few months and then from one day to the other...

Anyway, thanks for your answer, I'll keep looking for a solution.

I don't know all that much about Blender and it's installation.
However, perhaps if you install a previous version of it.
This might stop the strange behavior you're experiencing.

I will try that Wallace and let you know the result. I did a lot of research on this problem.
But when English isn't your native language...

Here's an article I read

Has there been any new driver updates for your laptop, which have been installed automatically?

Thanks for the link Lurifax73. When I can't find a solution here, I will try there.

Timelord, my laptop updates automatically. On January 29 I worked on a Blender project and it went fine.
Don't know when I restarted it, but these are the updates I've got since then.

I've not that many computer knowledge. And to understand it all in English it's even more difficult.

I dont know anything abouth Windows, I have been using iMac:s för 20 years. (BUT) I am sure your system ar simulare to my system on my computer.

Many times when you delete apps from your appfolder you still have them on your computer (Inside Library)

Vi take Blender as example.

You see Blender inside my Appfolder.

If I delete the folder Blender still inside the Libraryfolder.

When I open the Applicationfolder I see the Blenderfolder laying there. If I select and delete that folder Blender ar gone from my iMac.

I think thats why you still have Blender on your computer. You need to get rid of everything as have to do with your old Blender before you download and install new Blender.

Hi Ella Louise

Your updates would not have caused any issues (I assume you get driver updates via Windows).

Try downloading and running the portable version of Blender 2.79b, you can install on laptop or usb, and see if you have the same problem.

PortableApps Blender

Lurifax73, thank you very much for your support. The screenshots were very helpful.
After deleting the blender program there was still a Blender folder on my laptop. I removed it and reloaded Blender. Now it works fine again :yes :thanku

BTW I'm not a Blender artist like you are. I can only make something with the help of a very detailed tutorial. I've still very much to learn.

Timelord
, also thank you for your willing help :thanku
