GIMP 2.10.8 Released

I tried to install gimp 2.10.8 from gimp.org and the file said it was corrupted. I have Windows 10 version 1803.

I install gimp 2.10.8

There were no problems running the software.
Hope that future work with the software will be free of bugs.

It didn't work for me and downloading/installing from gimp.org has always worked for me in the past. I even bypassed the screen defender on windows in order to install it and it still said the file was corrupted. I will try it again and see what happens.

And for those running Linux that don't want to install FlatPak or use PPA, here is the latest AppImage for Gimp 2.10.9 (with plugins).

It's installing now. I'm not sure why it didn't work the first time around.

Maybe you didn't wait for the download to complete? Maybe Windows is just being Windows? That's all I can think of...

the first package; they confirm that this release has problems, anyhow it can be tested.
I will do it tomorrow.
For the moment, just downloaded the zip, unpacked and simply launched the English .exe: OK, it starts without any immediate problem. Tomorrow I will test my filters on this version.

I just updated to 2.10.8 no prob, loving GIMP. but G'MIC plug-in has stopped working, it was hard to get working to begin with but now I'm getting this msg again,

Just tried to start operating on Samj's pack but it's not possible, immediate error when opening Edit/Preferences.

Awaiting for a fix.

The Windows installer from gimp.org is rev 1, you should have gimp-2.10.8-1.exe, now a monster 194 MB

Seems to work fine for a 64 bit installation.

32 bit installation is broken, it has been reported, the rev 1 was supposed to fix it, fixed some of it but still crashes.

I saw a report that gmic_gimp_qt was not working. The 2.10 gmic installer from yesterday working ok. I suspect legacy files from earlier installations cause errors.

This in Win10 & Gimp 2.10.8 (VM). Old and new, Tin's "Bark.scm" using layerfx.py and gmic_gimp_qt 2.4.1



Linux: I updated this Kubuntu 16.04 laptop flatpak and a regular PClinuxOS installation. What works? Vertical text along-a-path.

Running Gimp 2.10.8 in Linux Mint 19 via Otto's PPA. Everything works perfectly as does G'mic. No problems so far with the AppImage either.

One thing I've noticed is that the regular version will allow you to import original color space, while the AppImage converts to Gimp built-in RGB automatically before importing.

Installed v2 of Samj's pack for 2.10.8.
Tested running one at a time all my 2.10 filters, including those using GMIC-QT.

I just downloaded and installed GIMP-2.10.8 for Windows 10 64 bit from gimp.org and it( GMIC-QT) runs perfectly for me.
