Look at what happens if you use Aquarel technique on an image desaturated first:

- this is the "normal" outcome if technique applied on the original coloured image

Yes, it looks like an old photo. But the "distorts" in the face look like when you try to make a gif outcome from a photo.
The colors appears then "cracked".

Yes, true, I just wanted to post that "strange" result (strange in the sense that it does not correspond to a coloured outcome desaturated).
I do not have any intention to "produce" outcomes looking as old photos (I'm against any "retro" technique…).
