I wanted to make sure this script was available, as gimpscripts.com is currently inactive. I've tested it using GIMP 2.10.20.

GnuTux, you want access to gimpscripts.net to add scripts? I also have people adding the scripts to my server to host (URL direct) them to the site, just in case. Some are just linked back to Gimpchat, etc.

That would be cool. Thanks, mahvin. I want to ensure I'm not adding duplicate updates to GIMP 2.10.. There are various updates to my scripts from different coders floating around and I don't want to confuse the issues. ;)

Hi,
I downloaded and installed the version found in the first post #1 V1.4. But on my Gimp 2.10.21 Win10 64 I get error messages. :roll:

I get the same error message as Krikor (post #125 above), on Windows 10 64 bit with Gimp 2.10.20

If you open the scm file, just replace "CUSTOM" with the number "3". Problem solved.

Was it just a Win10 thing?

@Mahvin,
After replacing CUSTOM with number 3, it still gives an error, this time:

In Samj's version it works (once corrected the "CUSTOM"), because it runs by default in compatibility mode.
Parameters should be all adjusted to 2.10 rules if not in compatibility.

Dinasset, since I started using Gimp, always and only used portable versions of Samj, including this one; Samj's 2.10.21

Mahvin, now! After the changes from CUSTOM to 3 and LINEAR to 0, it seems that the script is moving forward. Thx a lot.

It would be good if there was a post with the list of words for proper conversion, containing in addition to CUSTOM = 3; LINEAR = 0; all the others.

Now I will try to understand how this script works, fun ahead.

There is. It's in the procedure browser under "Help". You just have to look up the procedure and check. For instance, "gimp-edit-blend" for CUSTOM error, and "plug-in-bump-map" for LINEAR error.

no problems in the script just go to gimp-edit-blend and change CUSTOM to BLEND-CUSTOM or 3 as per below

(gimp-edit-blend        ; Blend (Gradient)
                        stroke-layer ; Drawable - (The affected drawable)
                        BLEND-CUSTOM ; Int32 - Blend Type (FG-BG-RGB-MODE (0))
                        paint-mode   ; Int32 - Paint Mode (NORMAL-MODE (0))
                        blend-shape  ; Int32 - Gradient Type (LINEAR (0))
                        100          ; Float - Opacity (0 - 100)
                        blend-offset ; Float - Offset ( >= 0)
                        blend-repeat ; Int32 - Repeat (NONE (0))
                        rev-gradient ; Int32 - Reverse (TRUE or FALSE)
                        TRUE         ; Int32 - Supersample (TRUE or FALSE)
                        3            ; Int32 - Supersampling Recursion  Dept (1 - 9)
                        0.25         ; Float - Supersampling threshold (0 <= 4)
                        TRUE         ; Int32 - Dither (TRUE or FALSE)
                        xblend-start ; Int32 - X Blend Starting Point
                        yblend-start ; Int32 - Y Blend Starting Point
                        xblend-end   ; Int32 - X Blend Ending Point
                        yblend-end   ; Int32 - Y Blend Ending Point
             ) ; End Blend

I tried changing custom to blend-custom and then 3 when blend-custom didn't work and I still get the error.

Thanks to "everyone" who tested, found bugs and updated code. :mrgreen:

I didn't have the errors others had with GIMP 2.10.20-1 and wasn't sure why. I thought the only thing that might be different was that I was still using Scrolling Interface Mod V1.1, and it turned out that was why it worked for me without error. I actually figured it would be the other-way round and Scrolling Interface would only "cause" errors, but with 2.10, both could occur.

So, I've updated the script to Gradient Stroke V1.5, which seems to work properly with or without Scrolling Interface Mod V1.1.

Thanks to mahvin & Graechan for coding. :bigthup

; V 1.5
; Update CUSTOM To BLEND-CUSTOM
; Update LINEAR To TRUE

Gradient Stroke V1.5
