GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

List any relevant plug-ins or scripts:
mathmap

I know this is probably a bit vague but I can't sem to get mathmap to work. This is most likely related to my configuration of having everything on my F drive instead of C. I installed per the directions but I think some installations automatically put some things on C anyway. Not sure what's going on.

I get all these squares on the screen so I know something is not right. In the second screenshot .. Distorts>Sphere there is no image in the preview window. I have an image open with alpha channel.

Rod, Molly, somebody?

yes the MathMap installer is a bit crappy, only apparently let you chose a path, But is not true

you don't have a C drive to use temporarly ? no much space would be needed, you will have only to point the installer there and then copy what will be decompressed there (a MM folder, a exe and some libraries )

wait you are lucky i just had to reinstall MM i will zip what needed

Ok you are lucky i had also on my usbdrive
and even more lucky, ...this is my personal version so include a couple of dozens of additional filters
(no other changes)

Now to install

1 open the zip, open the folder you now should see 2 folder

2 folder Mathmap go in your gimp user folder
3 for the other folder, copy everything is inside, and paste in your plugin folder
(or even better put all the folder inside "plu-ins and add its path in gimp preferences ) ( from gimp/edit/preferences/folder)

Assuming you get it all figured out, should I uninstall the one I have now & do a clean install with yours?

at soon i figure out...one of the folder was empty, maybe GC prevent to upload exe and alike, not sure
you have to wait a bit more, maybe i must upload somewhere else

anyway instrution would be the same

and YES you will have to remove first...well just to be safe because new files should automatically overwrite the older

Anyway you will have to wait several hours , now i am too busy

Thanks Photocomix. At your convenience. I don't mind waiting. I just stopped during lunch to check my posts. I'm building my patio cover anyway. I'll check back later this evening.

Download the latest version here Draconian.
http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/schani/mathmap/

Place the mathmap folder in your F:\.gimp-2.6 folder
place all the dll files and exe file in the F:\.gimp-2.6\plug-ins folder

Rod that istaller was buggy , works only if gimp is in the most standard position (and i fear that include be in a C drive, not in F as in this case)
The problem, the bug, appear when you point the installer in any place different from the default

I was thinking to reupload (yesterday i already did but then i deleted file and message... i was too sleepy so i prefer give up fearing to do some mistake ) MM as zipped archive, but if you may do faster that will be cool

The best way for Draconian to receive the file then would be by zip and just un compress the files to his gimp directory folders.
Draconian give me a directory path where your user/gimp-2.6/plug-ins folder is located.
IT HAS TO BE EXACT - spelling and everything please.
Then i can create a replica directory tree inside the zip so all you would have to do is unzip to your user folder/gimp-2.6 folders.

Thanks.

This may be why I'm having so many problems with these plug-ins. I seem to have two 2.6 folders.

I have the "Documents & Settings\Dave\.gimp-2.6" and another one on my F drive - "F:\.gimp-2.6

Most of the folders in the 2.6 folder on F drive are empty so I'm a little confused. I assume the "user" you are referreing to is the one on C drive. If I have any duplication I really need to clean this up at some point because I have way too much invested in the way i have gimp configured. The whole reason to put everything on F was because I'm pretty much out of space on C drive and If i keep putting things into A user folder on C I'm gonna have a problem. Shoot I don't even have enough space left to run defrag right now and I have deleted and/or moved everything I can to F.

Hy
i just upload MM for gimp 2.6 (and 2.7..grab the right one!) , you first need to figure out wich of the 2 .gimp folder you have is the right one but for that i have a good trick:

1 ) move both .gimp folders somewhere else (i.e a new Gimp_backup folder)
2) RELOAD gimp

and gimp will recreate the right folder in the right place

then you can grab MM and install following the instrution here

I tried my best (see my last 2 posts on the other "Mathmap Full" thread you posted) I provided 5 screenshots to show you whats going on now. Mathmap shows up but only partially works.

Should I continue to post here or on your other "Mathmap Full" thread?

Speaking of mathmap, I can use the individual actions in the program, but when I try to use the composer I have some issues, the first and foremost being that mathmap usually closes as I am working in the composer. Anyone had this problem or know what might be causing it?
